Sliding Gantry CT on rails: Bildgebungsausrüstung für medizinische, zahnärztliche und tiermedizinische Anwendungen

Paul Scherrer Institute is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences in Switzerland. It is the central hub for Switzerland’s large-scale research facilities. As part of the ETH Domain, PSI is a key pillar of the Swiss research landscape and conducts cutting-edge research in the fields of future technologies, energy and climate, health innovation, and the fundamentals of nature. 

Targeted cancer therapy with protons: PSI operates Switzerland’s only facility for treating specific types of cancer with proton therapy. This particularly gentle treatment method makes it possible to destroy tumors with high precision while largely preserving the surrounding healthy tissue unharmed. 

To meet the future demand for a new rail-mounted CT device in the proton treatment room, this RFI is intended to provide an overview of the market.  

Requirements: 

- Rail-mounted CT simulator (sliding-gantry CT simulator) suitable for proton therapy planning 

- Capability for use in patient positioning 

- Compatibility with installation inside a proton treatment room without interfering with the proton irradiation systems

The insights gained from the responses will be incorporated into the analysis of the procurement requirements. Participation in this RFI is voluntary and non-binding.
